Every day Monday June 27 through Sunday July 3 I will be reviewing science fiction movies. If you leave a comment on any of my posts on these days, you will have a chance to win:
The Adjustment Bureau – The new movie starring Matt Damon inspired by a short story written by Philip K. Dick.
AND
The Early Work of Philip K. Dick Volume 1: The Variable Man and Other Stories – which contains the short story “Adjustment Team” – the basis for the movie!

I am excited for this! Philip K. Dick is an awesome author, and that book of short stories has some excellent stuff in it. I haven’t seen the movie but am looking forward to it.

Rita, I had to laugh! I can’t think of a single sci-fi movie that comes close to my own reality! I can however, think of several that I WISH my life would resemble!

I saw the movie first and then read the short story. The movie did not have as much similarity with the short story as I would have liked – no talking dog.

Kay, I agree, The Adjustment Bureau movie and short story were very different. Actually, completely different. I wonder how the movie would have turned out if Philip K. Dick himself wrote the screenplay… how cool would that be to have his creative mind around making movies??
