The Fifth Element is about a cab driver and a unique woman on a bizarre mission to save the world from being destroyed by evil.

  • Starring: Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich and Gary Oldman
  • Rated: PG-13 for intense sci-fi violence, some sexuality and brief nudity.
  • Released: 1997
  • Genre: Science Fiction, Action
  • My Opinion: Bizarre, Unusual, Funny, Exciting, FABULOUS!!

Every 5,000 years, an unthinkable evil tries to extinguish life on Earth.  The only weapon that can stop this evil is The Fifth Element, a perfect being.  Coincidentally, she keeps falling into the arms of cab driver/former elite military man, Korben Dallas.  Together, with the help of several very odd allies, they retrieve the four other elements needed to defeat the coming evil.  The Fifth Element is a wild and bizarre adventure across the galaxy, while the heroes fight forces of every kind.

My only suggestion is to expect the unexpected in The Fifth Element.  It’s like watching Star Wars on crack!  I really enjoy the wide array of characters, the mission that keeps changing course, and the overall theme of good vs. evil.  This is truly one of the craziest movies I have ever seen, and I love every minute of it!  It is so creative and colorful and unexpected!  If you go in with an open mind you will be shocked and pleased at the humorous and hopeful storyline.

  • You can rent The Fifth Element at any movie store or Netflix.
  • You can purchase this movie at Amazon.com.
  • There are also plenty of good used copies at eBay.

If you liked The Fifth Element you might also like Armageddon, also starring Bruce Willis, about an oil driller that agrees to drill on an asteroid in an attempt to save our planet.
